Ha! I was going to post the same comment. I’ve just watched an awards ceremony clip from 1987 where her acceptance address was exactly 9 seconds long. The tiniest ego in the business.

Wow…I saw this episode, the day it showed, and it was my introduction to to her as a person, all I knew was that Running up that Hill, was awesome and I HAD to have more of her…Probably the only woman who could never talk my ear off, or sing…lol…aw COME-ON!!! I’m Kidding!
Then the video of Babooshka came on, HOLY SHIT BATMAN, but to be in like with terrible uncertainty as to what I was seeing.
It’s too terrible we don’t have the full interview here. I aimed at this interview at MuchMusic around 1985 (if my memory serves me correctly.) It ran about 20 minutes, and my intention was to show Kate ‘the party person’, with Christopher Ward (who had prepared very excellent understanding questions at the time.) Sorry, I don’t have the tape either. Maybe someday it will surface. Kate was anything but superficial – it was a pleasure to be able to direct the interview, and meet her personally.
A fantastic musician but like all ‘fantastic’ musicians, is inclined to waffle on sometimes. It must be in their DNA.
When she’s having a excellent interview with a man, she always seems to end each barrage with a smile that reminds me of the cat who ate the canary.
